Jewelry Designer: Brand Beginnings

I was recommended to help a young jewelry designer launch her business. Her budget was really small for a full blow-out branding project. In order to assist her and give her a brand that she could later grow, I made the decision to jump to the challenge. I have completed numerous projects of that nature, but client procedures are the same whether the budget is large or small. Here is an overview of the process this job required:

The Logotype.

Regarding the logotype, I saw some oddities in the way the client customized her signature and decided to take inspiration from it.  After modifying and customizing a previously chosen font, I developed a solution that closely resembles the original signature.

Way of writing the letter "Y"
Line across signature
Stacking of letters
Extra spacing between letters

Additional graphic elements

The client is originally from South America. The style of her home country and region has a big influence on her creations. She was looking to incorporate that into the final design. Given that she is a female producing pieces for the ladies, it was also crucial to incorporate some feminine elements into the graphic solution.

As I was researching, I discovered that we could start tapping into some pre-Columbian drawings and markings from her birth region. I concentrated on a select few that caught my attention and further explored them artistically to generate some graphic components to complement the designed logo.

These are the ones I ended up creating.

A color palette was developed along with a variety of visuals.

Business Cards & Paper Tags

Preferred colors were chosen, more likable solutions were selected, and business cards were made. A variety of tags were designed to be used from jewelry to other swag items.
